Janet's family has deep roots in the Lowcountry and loves living in Beaufort now. Her grandfather, Randolph Carter Berkeley was the commanding general of Parris Island from 1933-1936 and was awarded the Metal of Honor for his military valor during the battle of Vera Cruz. Her parents retired to Beaufort and lived on Berkeley Circle in Port Royal which is directly across from Parris Island on Battery Creek. In her free time Janet enjoys riding her bike on the Spanish Moss Trail.
