Deborah Stroud is a hybrid East Tennessee - Fripp artist whose work is inspired by the beauty of nature. Since first visiting Fripp Island in 2006, Deborah has been captivated by its landscapes, wildlife, and coastal charm. She and her husband, Bob, became part-time residents in 2016, and the island has become a cherished source of inspiration and creativity.
Deborah’s work celebrates the beauty of the Lowcountry, featuring coastal landscapes, shrimp boats, and wildlife, with a particular love for painting spoonbills.
Deborah is a member of the Fountain City Art Guild, Fripp Island Art Guild, and Beaufort Art Association. She served as President of the Fountain City Art Guild in 2025 and as President and Co-Founder of the Fripp Island Art Guild for 2025–2026.
Grateful for the gift of art and the mentors who have encouraged her along the way, Deborah strives to create paintings that celebrate the beauty, character, and joy found in God’s creation.
